The Eighth "Oversea Chinese Youth, Festive Meeting in Beijing"
炎黄杰青,相约北京
Summer Camp (July 1 - July 8, 2009)

The Eighth "Oversea Chinese Youth, Festive Meeting in Beijing" Summer Camp (July 1 - July 8, 2009) is co-sponsored by the Beijing Chinese Overseas Friendship Association and the Washington-Beijing Culture Exchange Association. The camp is designed to let Chinese American high school students have firsthand experience with important cultural, historical, and educational aspects of China as well as visit Beijing Olympic venues and Olympic Park. Students will explore China's past and present, examining how the cultures have converged and diverged. The entire journey includes four days activities in Beijing and three days in Shangdong Province. We will visit key cultural landmarks in Beijing including the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, watch raise flag in Tian Anmen Square, and enjoy evening performance shows. The activities outside of Beijing will also be exciting and interesting. Students will also join the party hosted by a Shangdong Oversea Chinese Friendship Association and outstanding Chinese students in Shangdong. We hope that these many direct experiences will provide attendees with the information, insights, and artifacts that they need to help cultivate a greater understanding of China and the Chinese culture.
